In addition to being nominated for Best Animated Feature by the Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes, Flow earned a Best Animated Feature – Independent nomination from the Annie Awards.
In addition, Flow has been nominated for Best International Feature by the Film Independent Spirit Awards and was named Best European Animated Feature by the European Film Awards.

In addition, Flow received a 94% “fresh” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 500-plus reviews.
In a November 2024 interview with Fast Company, Zilbalodis said that the production team for Flow was tiny by Hollywood standards—around 50 people—with about 20 of them being part of the core group.
“Usually it was just two or three people, including me, in the studio, and in the first few years, it was just me. It was a pretty small production, but it’s much bigger than my previous film, which I made myself,” Zilbalodis told Fast Company. “This was maybe about 50 times bigger in terms of the budget, but it’s actually 50 times smaller than most Disney films.”
Rated PG, Flow arrives on PVOD on Tuesday.
