War Room’s Steve Bannon discussed the Democrat meltdown over the government shutdown aversion with GOP strategist Alex DeGrasse.
The opening of the video shows an MSNBC clip discussing the aversion of the government shutdown with ten Democrats voting with the Republicans in the Senate.
There is also a clip of Democrat Senator John Fetterman being asked if Democrats have leverage.
“What leverage? What leverage do we have? Democrats keep showing up every night with casserole and you know, they have these cheesy paddles,” Fetterman responded.
“This is such a huge defeat for the Democrats,” Bannon said.
“In the weeds, behind the scenes is that Hakeem Jeffries apparently was sort of caught off guard,” DeGrasse said.
“Ten Democrats voted to put this thing through,” DeGrasse said.
“They are talking about AOC primarying, Schumer, I mean people are melting down, especially in the House because they are caught holding the bag,” DeGrasse continued.
Bannon explained that Democrat Rep Hakeem Jeffries in the House was more prepared than Senator Chuck Schumer.
“Hakeem Jeffries had everybody set to basically to fight, and that’s where all these town halls and they got all these people fighting. Schumer never really read anybody into the plan,” Bannon said.
“Is that why they are really steamed? They got caught by surprise by Schumer’s fold?” Bannon asked.
“Ya, I mean Schumer, to his credit, he is sort of a slick operator here in DC,” DeGrasse said.
“They are absolutely melting down, you see everything playing out on social media because they don’t have a strategy, they are leaderless. The polling has never been worse. They are in the gutter,” DeGrasse continued.
“It’s just not the same as 2017. I think Schumer knows that and he knows if they were to go into a shutdown, they would implode because President Trump would gut many of the unnecessary parts of the government,” DeGrasse said.
