A kitten stolen from the Animal Friends Humane Society in Butler County has been found safe.

The humane society said the kitten, who required close medical attention, was stolen from the shelter on Jan. 16.

The kitten was found on Monday, Jan. 20 after the humane society received a notification from the microchip company.
The microchip was scanned by a vet at Hunter Pet Care in Franklin, according to the humane society.
Staff went to pick up the kitten from Franklin Tuesday morning.
“A big THANK YOU to the amazing good Samaritan who found Forrest! She was heading out to start her car when little Forrest ran out from underneath it. This kind soul didn’t hesitate to get him to a vet, where they had him scanned for a microchip,” the humane society said.
As previously reported by News Center 7, the person who took the kitten was apprehended by police.
It is unclear if they are facing any charges.
