DEVELOPING: German Election Exit Polls Show Rightwing AfD Ahead of Ruling SPD in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Coming in Third in Berlin – Merz REFUSES TO RESIGN Despite Two Humiliating Defeats

Exit polls show another electoral victory for the AfD in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The day has come when the future of Germany continues to be decided by voters in two states, as the establishment trembles in fear of the surging Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Today’s votes in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are taking place just two weeks after the AfD came out in first in Saxony-Anhalt, obtaining nearly 44% of the vote in the state.

As the day progresses, it’s been reported that the turnout surges both in the tight Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania election and in Berlin’s state vote.

Today’s numbers are running significantly ahead of the 2023 election.

Today’s election comes after the AfD victory in Saxony-Anhalt turned the talk of a mid-term ‘Kanzlertausch’ (palace coup) against failing Chancellor Friedrich Mertz from a mere rumor into an open party conversation.

If the CDU drops below the 5 percent threshold in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – as it is widely feared – and is shut out of state parliament, or if it loses first place and the governing role in Berlin, Merz’s political future will be on the line.

Which is unsurprising for a leader that 78% of citizens say they do not trust.

AfD grew 21% in Pomerania, coming in first.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the AfD is projected first with 37 or 38%, and the SPD is a close second.

Merz’s CDU, the leftist Greens, and BSW are all on the 5% threshold – the worst CDU result in any election, ever.

AfD is winning the popular vote but short of a majority.

In Berlin, AfD got 16% of the vote, coming in third.

Leftist Die Linke is projected as the largest party in Berlin for the first time, with CDU in second and AfD in third.

According to polls, both catastrophes have befallen the CDU: the party has lost Berlin to the far-left, and is on the brink of not having any representation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania by not reaching the 5% vote.

Will we see a ‘Kanzlertausch’?

UPDATE: Merz refuses to resign.

Disclose TV reported:

“JUST IN – Former BlackRock chairman and German Chancellor Merz is not resigning despite disastrous election results of his party (CDU) in today’s state elections in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.”

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for the official election results.
