Netflix’s UK and Ireland account posted two stills from season two of The Gentlemen on September 10 with the caption “Nearly did himself a neck injury.”
September 10, of course, was the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University, where he was shot in the neck on stage.

Conservatives quickly called for a boycott of the notoriously ultra-woke streaming platform.

Netflix, however, is standing by the post, did not apologize, and called the outrage “ludicrous.”
A Netflix spokesperson told US Weekly, “This post directly references a plot point from our UK series, The Gentlemen, which launched its second season on September 3. Suggestions that it has any link to sensitive real world events are inaccurate and ludicrous.”
Kirk was 31, a husband and father, killed while taking questions on a campus that spent the following year arguing over whether he should even have a memorial.
TPUSA wrote in a statement on the anniversary of the founder’s death, “Charlie believed America was worth fighting for, that young people could change the course of a nation, and that speech would only remain free if exercised. Always leading by example, he was fearless in the pursuit of truth—no matter the cost. No one taught this generation how to fight the good fight better than Charlie Kirk.”
“Turning Point shares those beliefs and will never abandon them. Charlie never gave up, and neither will we. Turning Point will continue to grow and meet milestones that Charlie dreamed of.”
Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with the assassination, is due in court in October. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
