President Trump on Sunday went off on Michigan Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell, whom he called “Debbie Dingbat” and a “Third Rate Loser”
This comes after Dingell responded to Trump’s recent executive order, changing the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America,” accusing Trump of “trying to divide us and distract people from his reckless trade war that is raising costs and threatening American workers.”
“The Great Lakes are a shared treasure that generations of Americans and Canadians have worked together to protect. Donald Trump can sign all the executive orders he wants, but it will always be Lake Ontario. Canada is not our enemy. It is our neighbor, our ally, and one of Michigan’s most important economic partners. It is a friendship that no stroke of a pen can erase,” Dingell said in a statement.
“President Trump is trying to divide us and distract people from his reckless trade war that is raising costs and threatening American workers. When he is done doing arts and crafts in the Oval, I’d suggest he turn his attention to his failed economy that is raising costs, eliminating jobs, and leaving working men and women behind.”
She further vowed to introduce legislation to block Trump’s “idiotic order” to change the name.

During an interview last week with Fox’s John Roberts, she went on an unhinged tirade about Trump’s order, complaining that “Canada’s not going to change the name” and that fish and birds won’t know the difference.

Trump went off on Dingell earlier, slamming her for “nothing but bad about your favorite President, ME!” despite his kindness to her husband, the late Congressman John Dingell, when he passed away in February 2019.
“Upon his death, I gave Congressman John Dingell, the Royal Sendoff, MAXED OUT! His wife, Debbie Dingbat, called me and thanked me profusely, while crying uncontrollably,” Trump said. “Every time I see that Third Rate Loser ripping me, I’m amazed, because I’m a loyal person, I don’t do things like that but, that’s OK — It’s Politics. However, it shouldn’t be that way! ”
Trump has feuded with Dingell since 2019, following the death of her husband, for whom he ordered flags to fly at half-staff.
During a December 2019 rally, Trump famously joked that John Dingell may be “looking up” from hell and slammed Debbie Dingell for voting to impeach during the Democrats’ first failed impeachment attempt.
“She calls me up: ‘It’s the nicest thing that’s ever happened, thank you so much. John would be so thrilled. He’s looking down, he’d be so thrilled,’” Trump told the crowd. “I said, ‘That’s ok. Don’t worry about it. Maybe he’s looking up, I don’t know.’”
“It was the most profuse thank you that you could ever get… now they talk about this phony impeachment,” he continued.
