Muslim Migrants Threaten To Go on Strike in Venice After Local Mayor Blocks Construction of Large Mosque

Muslim Bangladeshis vow to grind city to a standstill.

Besides the ongoing struggle for remigration across Europe, there’s also a pressing need to force those migrants that won’t be expelled to assimilate to the local values, and also pull the breaks on the rapid Islamization of their societies.

That is what a small-town mayor near Venice, Italy, is doing. The mayor recently blocked the construction of a large mosque in the historic Christian city.

So, the Muslim migrant workers are threatening to go on strike, after the mayor’s actions.

The Telegraph reported:

“Bangladeshi migrants make up about a quarter of the employees at the Fincantieri shipyards, which are among the largest in Europe. Bars, cafés and restaurants often employ Bangladeshi immigrants, meaning a strike would also affect tourism, they say.

They want to construct the white-walled mosque on the site of an old sawmill in the nearby town of Mestre, which is located on the mainland. The migrants say their 10,000-strong community deserves to have a spacious, elegantly built place of worship.

[…] Prince Howlader, a representative of the Bangladeshi community, said: ‘Enough – we are tired of being given the runaround by the city council. If they don’t let us build our mosque we will protest in the streets.”

Notizie.it reported:

“As reported by Corriere del Veneto, the project concerns the area of the former sawmill in via Giustizia, near Mestre station, purchased by the association ‘Giovani per l’umanità’ with the aim of creating a place of worship at its own expense.

The land, valued at approximately €1,5 million, is currently used for commercial purposes, and a €150 down payment has reportedly already been made. To build the mosque, a zoning change is therefore required, transforming the area into a zone designated for activities of collective interest.

[…] However, with the arrival of new mayor Simone Venturini, elected at the end of May, the situation has changed. The mayor maintains that ‘the conditions aren’t right’ to begin the process and still considers the planned structure too imposing.

This stance has provoked a harsh reaction from Prince Howlader, president of Youth for Humanity, who said the issue has been dragging on for about fifteen years. ‘We are ready to put a stop to everything’, he stated, announcing the possibility of protests. The Bangladeshi community represents a significant portion of the workforce employed at Fincantieri in Marghera, as well as in restaurants, kitchens, hotels, and other tourism-related businesses. ‘If we go on strike, Fincantieri will come to a halt in Venice, Mestre, and Marghera, along with all tourism—kitchens, restaurants, and hotels’ Howlader warned.”
