Monday on FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI), the Republican Wisconsin gubernatorial nominee, said his opponent Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley was much like now-former Democratic Socialists of America Democratic hopeful Francesca Hong.
According to Tiffany, like Hong, Crowley had “capitulated” to socialists, which he said was a failed ideology.
“Why do you think that Francesca Hong, who was this dark horse DSA candidate came so close to clinching on the Democratic side?” Fox Business News’ Cheryl Casone said. “It kind of came down to it seems her comments about, you know, canceling Thanksgiving, a simple thing that really hurt her in the end. But why are voters in Wisconsin, why are they grabbing onto these policies? What are they telling you? Why are they hurting? Is it economics? Is it rent? Is it utilities? What’s going on there?”
Tiffany replied, “The Democrat Party has been taken over by the socialists. It’s as simple as that. I mean, my opponent David Crowley. He said a couple weeks ago that my policies are very little different than Francesca Hong. They have basically capitulated to the socialists, and it is about affordability, I believe. But they believe some of their followers believe that if we just cast aside the free enterprise system, the system of our government that provides more freedom. That maybe we can find a better way. It’s always the siren song of socialism that says we’re going to make life so much better. We know it fails every time.”
