Israel deliberately setting southern Lebanon ablaze – firefighters to Guardian

Firefighters have said Israeli drones and munitions have repeatedly sparked blazes in forests, olive groves and farmland since the June ceasefire

Lebanese firefighters have accused Israel of intentionally igniting wildfires across southern Lebanon using drones and various munitions. They reported to the Guardian that both drones and incendiary weapons have been repeatedly employed to set fire to forests and agricultural land.

Large areas of woodland, olive groves and farmland have burned in the nearly two months since the June 17 ceasefire largely halted fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. Hussein Fakih, the head of civil defense in the Nabatieh region, estimated that fires have affected 30-40% of land in some areas...
