If you watch The Five on FOX News, you know that Dana Perino does not usually go out on a limb to make political predictions. She is much more likely to follow traditional polling and play her cards very close to her chest.
That is not what she did today.
Perino was talking about the horrible optics for Democrats with the government shutdown when she suddenly predicted that Democrats are going to lose BOTH of the upcoming gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey.
“What headline do you want at the end of today? President Trump wants 25 headlines every day and it works for them, it gets confusing for me covering this because it’s like walking into a room full of disco balls, like where do we look next? Because there’s so many things that are going on.
But the Democrats really have one singular focus, it’s how do they win the midterms and how do they come back in 2028?
But we’ve already seen the rinse and repeat. If they’re going to all of a sudden, immediately now in the first term, first year in the second term, start calling JD Vance basically Hitler, so we know that you’re never gonna move on from Trump, because it doesn’t matter who it is – Jeb Bush could come back and try to run for president and they would call him Hitler and try to tie him to Trump because that’s what they think is their ticket to ride when it really has been their ticket to nowhere.
And that’s why they’re not gonna win. And I don’t think they’re gonna win either of these gubernatorial races in the next two weeks.”

Dana could very well be right. The polls in both races have tightened in recent weeks and are basically neck and neck. And as we all know, polls tend to favor Democrats.
It is all going to come down to turn out. Which side can turn out the most voters to ensure victory. For Republicans, it almost needs to be a repeat of 2024. It has to be too big to rig.
