President Donald Trump said Friday that “tremendous success” is the one thing that can bring America together.
Trump told Fox & Friends that success is the key to unity on Friday, just days after Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated in a watershed moment for the United States of America.
After noting that Democrats had begun working with him near the end of his first term and that things were “coming together,” Trump remarked. “The only thing that’s going to bring us together is tremendous success.”
Trump also told Americans that they can’t let fear of political violence keep them from living their lives.
“I say you have to go forward. You just have to go forward. You watch, you know, as closely as you can. I have great people,” he said.
He called on conservatives specifically to get “revenge at the voter box” when Fox News host Brian Kilmeade asked what he would say to those of them who desire revenge.
When Ainsley Earhardt mentioned that Trump would be traveling to the United Kingdom for a state visit next week, he revealed he would also attend Kirk’s funeral.
“I also go to a funeral for a great gentleman named Charlie Kirk, who should not be having a funeral right now,” Trump said. “He should be out there in front of people. He loved doing it. He was so good at it.”
“I mean, he had a big impact on the election,” he added. “I got so many young voters, and no Republican’s ever gotten anything close. I dominated with young people, and it’s never happened before. And I give him so much credit.”
He also shared that Donald Trump Jr. told him that Kirk was like another son to him in ways.
“Don said to me, ‘He’s sort of like a son to you,’” Trump shared.
“I’ve never seen young people or any group go to one person like they did to Charlie,” he went on to add, emphasizing that no one on the left could compete with his crowds.
“And it was killing them because he’d have 5,000 people show up. 10,000 people show up. They’d go and they’d have 50 people, but they talk big league, right? He was an unbelievable talent,” Trump added.
