Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Five,” co-host Greg Gutfeld said the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder at Utah Valley University, has woken Republicans up.
Co-host Jessie Waters said, “If they can kill Charlie, they are capable of anything. This is a huge message that was sent to the entire world. We just have to grasp the gravity of it. And let it sink in. And then move forward with passion and connection, just like Charlie would have wanted. And my thoughts and prayers go out to Erika and his two young kids and I love them. And I love Charlie. It’s just a very, very sad day, especially right before 9/11.”
Gutfeld said, “I know that it is somewhat an object of mockery to say thoughts and prayers but thoughts and prayers for his family, they need it from all of us. And Jesse’s right, if they can do this, they can do anything. I think that was the message. I believe that was the message.”
He continued, “It’s really hard to radicalize Republicans. You know, we’re not the radical type. But if you thought that you were going to shut a movement down, you’re going to get a rude awakening.”
He added, “You woke us the fuck up.”
