A Facebook post by Houston’s ABC13 news station announcing President Donald Trump’s plan to award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom ignited a wave of vitriolic reactions. Hundreds of leftist commenters openly celebrate the conservative speaker’s assassination and mock his legacy in a chilling display of political hatred.
The Houston ABC news affiliate’s Facebook page is home to more than two million followers. Among the readers who posted thoughtful commentary and condolences, hundreds of others expressed pleasure at the act of violence that robbed Kirk of his life on Wednesday afternoon. Others were dismayed that the President intends to award Kirk the Medal of Freedom posthumously.
One commenter on the post with a username of Guido Falconi shamelessly lamented, “So the dude gets a participation trophy for dying?” Another user, Ronnie Hbr Wilson, gleefully exclaimed, “I’m glad Charlie will never get to wear it,” expressing his pleasure at the senseless murder of the husband and father to two young children.
In typical leftist fashion, some commenters could not help but invoke Nazi comparisons concerning the intention to award Kirk the highest civilian award, referring to the medal as the “HITLER medal”.
One user posting as Rebeka Rios went so far to connect the murder of Kirk directly to President Trump and offering an ominous prediction about future acts of violence, saying:
I understand this happened because people have lost patience with Donald Trump and know this person is their ally, so they sent a message…Trump could possibly be next if he doesn’t take care of himself. It’s a shame this administration is generating hatred and a negative atmosphere where peace and tranquility are lacking. We’ll soon get rid of Trump. Be patient, his dictatorship is almost over. Three more years, but the elections are next year.
Among the horrible images posted in the comment section of ABC 13’s post announcing Trump’s intention to award the medal to Kirk were several cartoon-like memes showing the likeness of the young conservative speaker with a bleeding wound to the neck.
Those posting vile comments on Houston’s ABC 13 Facebook page are just part of a larger group of leftists celebrating the horrendous act of political violence that has saddened millions of Americans. As reported by Breitbart News, among the many thousands of people who are taking to social media to express their shock at the despicable act of violence that took Charlie Kirk’s life and offer prayers and condolences, many others are taking to social media to celebrate the act.
Breitbart News Reporter Olivia Rondaeau highlighted in a recent report concerning a horrific social media post made by a Florida anesthesiologist, where the doctor proclaimed she is “really glad that Charlie Kirk just got himself fucking shot,” adding that “no one should give a fuck that he’s dead.”
As reported by Breitbart News, on Thursday, the FBI released a photo of a person of interest in the Charlie Kirk assassination and is seeking the public’s help. As of press time, the shooter still remains at large.
