One would not expect the man who founded “White Dudes for Harris” of having sharp intellect or political instincts and Fox News’s Jesse Watters easily proved this during a segment last night.
Mike Nellis appeared as a guest on “Jesse Watters Primetime” to discuss President Trump making DC safe again by sending in the National Guard and the possibility of more military firepower in other crime-filled Democratic cities like Nellis’s home city of Chicago.
Nellis opened up by accusing Trump playing political theater with sending troops to crime-ridden Democratic cities to distract from the economy, calling it offensive. Watters, though, quickly swatted aside this lie, pointing out that Trump just held a press conference where he discussed economic issues for several hours.
After Nellis then tried to spin his lie by claiming Trump only discussed tariffs, Watters responded by sarcastically asking whether Democrats would return tariff rebate checks proposed by Trump.
Watters then turned back to crime and things got worse for Nellis, especially after he tried to bring up crime in red states to distract from what’s happening in Chicago.
Watters absolutely unloaded on him at that point. Then, he rightfully laughed off Nellis whining about possibly seeing tanks in the streets (which might be necessary considering how dangerous the Windy City is) even if it means less crime and mocked Nellis for laughably accusing Trump of cutting police funding.

NELLIS: I think the challenge he is facing is that Donald Trump is playing a lot of theater in order to distract from what he doesn’t want to talk about, which is the economy…What he is doing and what I find to be offensive…
WATTERS: Distraction? He talked about the economy for three hours. How is this a distraction? One of the reasons he was elected is to fight crime, and he is doing it!
NELLIS: Jesse, he is boasting about record tariff intake the government is taking in, but he’s not talking about inflation anymore because everything is more expensive…
WATTERS So when he gives stimulus checks to all these Democrats, they’re not going to cash them. They’re just going to send them back in, we’ll pay down the debt and they’ll refuse to cash them.
Mike, I’m talking about crime. You say it’s a distraction, I say it’s one of the many things he’s been successful at. Why does it have to be a distraction? Why can’t it be he’s juggling a lot of balls?
NELLIS: Yeah, he’s juggling a lot of balls. Yeah, I’ll give some credit because the numbers are better but the numbers are better because the military are on our streets. And if you look at the economic numbers in DC, you can the people do not feel safe. Restaurant revenue dropped 40%…
WATTERS: Mike, that’s a lie. When you compare restaurant revenue from restaurant week from a different week, that’s been debunked. We debunked it on The Five!
Tell me this: should Chicago invite the guard in to tackle homicides?
NELLIS: No…The city of Chicago has had a chance to vote for Donald Trump three times and he lost by 80% each of the three times he was on the ballot.
If Donald Trump wants to get involved heavily, he should go look at red states. Because Donald Trump does not have any urgency to deal with Louisiana, which is the murder capital of the United States.
He doesn’t have anything to say about Oklahoma, which has the worst schools in the nation…
WATTERS: Okay, Mike. Chicago’s a little bigger Baton Rouge! And you live in Chicago and you should care! Did you hear my friend in the monologue talk about her cousin, her uncle, her niece? They’re all dead!
Do you care about that at all!? Your mayor doesn’t care. Your mayor doesn’t want any back up! What the h*ll’s wrong with him?
NELLIS: Hey, I care about the crime in Chicago, but I also care about making sure people feel safe. I’m not going to feel safe in my city if I take my son to school, I have to drive by a tank.
WATTERS (laughing): Really?
NELLIS: I’m not going to feel safe if I have to take him to a ball game.
WATTERS: I’d feel more scared of strays, but go ahead.
NELLIS: I’m happy to support more police on the streets to keep Chicago safe…The problem is (Trump) cut community police funding by $2 billion…
WATTERS: Mike, you guys defunded the police, don’t talk about cutting funds. Everybody knows the Democrats defunded the police.
But I respect that you’re from Chicago and you want to be safe and you don’t want to see a tank when you see the White Sox lose, and that’s okay.
But we are all in agreement that Chicago needs to do a lot better.
NELLIS: I’m tired of Republicans blaming all the crime on Democratic states.
WATTERS: Well, most of them are run by Democrats.
