Canadian Mountie Assigned to G7 Under Criminal Investigation for Making “Violent” Threats Against President Trump and Leaking Info About Trump’s Movements at Alberta G7 Summit

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer who was assigned to the G7 summit in Alberta last month is under investigation for posting “violent” threats against President Donald Trump and of leaking information about Trump’s movements at the summit, according to a report by Le Journal de Montreal.

The G7 was held June 15-17 in Kananaskis, Alberta, located in the Canadian Rockies.

Trump abruptly left the summit a day early to deal with the Middle East (Iran-Israel war), according to a statement by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt:

President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State.

The threat report comes two days before the one year anniversary of the assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania that wounded Trump and two supporters and killed supporter Corey Comperatore.

Trump survived a second attempt on his life last September 15 when an alert Secret Service agent fired on a would-be assassin holding a rifle near a hole at one of Trump’s golf courses in West Palm Beach, Florida as Trump was playing a few holes away.

The government of Iran has also plotted to assassinate Trump, with an alleged operative being charged by the U.S. last fall.

Excerpt from the report by Le Journal de Montreal (translated):

A Quebec RCMP officer is under criminal investigation for making threatening comments in connection with U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the G7, our Bureau of Investigation has learned.

According to our information, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) employee was deployed to Alberta last month as part of the G7, a gathering of heads of state from the world’s largest economies.

Our sources tell us that the police officer allegedly leaked information about the movements of US President Donald Trump during his visit, which could compromise the security of the most powerful man in the world.

“The individual made threatening comments online,” confirmed Corporal Éric Gasse of the RCMP.

The Quebecer, whose identity the police refuse to confirm for confidentiality reasons, has since been subject to disciplinary measures.

Corporal Gasse also confirmed that two investigations, one criminal and one ethics, have been opened in connection with this incident.

“Within our walls, we cannot tolerate any violent remarks. The RCMP takes this very seriously,” he continued.

CNN reported on Trump’s early exit from the G7 (excerpt):

It only took a few hours of summitry in the Canadian woods on Monday for President Donald Trump to decide he’d rather be elsewhere.

Returning to Washington on an overnight flight, Trump attributed his decision to abruptly abandon the Group of 7 summit to operational security, suggesting there could be prying ears among the fir trees listening to his secret conversations.

“I don’t believe in telephones, because people like you listen to them,” he told reporters on Air Force One. “Being on the scene is much better, and we did everything I had to do at the G7.”

…Though he initially framed his departure from Alberta as a matter of great urgency, he told reporters heading back to Washington that the picture would be clearer on Israel’s intentions “over the next two days.” If there was a imminent and specific reason for his abrupt departure, he and aides didn’t reveal it.
