In case you missed Saturday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:

ForbesToday’s NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Saturday, June 14thBy Erik Kain

It’s a day for dads, though the Mini Crossword really doesn’t reflect that in any meaningful way. I guess that’s your first clue: Don’t expect Father’s Day-themed words in today’s puzzle. In any case, it’s not quite Sunday yet and I’m sure you have lots of prep to do for your own family fun, so I’ll be brief. Let’s solve this Mini Crossword!

The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.

Spoilers ahead! Here’s the first letter of each word.

Across

1A. Long, drawn-out story — starts with the first letter S

5A. With 6-Down, become hopelessly infatuated — starts with the first letter C

7A. Unsettled feeling — starts with the first letter A

8A. Back tooth — starts with the first letter M

9A. Passionate student, perhaps — starts with the first letter N

Down

1D. A text saying “Congratulations! You’ve won a $1,000 gift card,” usually — starts with the first letter S

2D. Element between chlorine and potassium on the periodic table — starts with the first letter A

3D. Craftiness — starts with the first letter G

4D. “___ Is Born” (film) — starts with the first letter A

6D. See 5-Across — starts with the first letter H

Spoilers ahead! Here are all the answers.

Across

1A. Long, drawn-out story — SAGA

5A. With 6-Down, become hopelessly infatuated — CRUSH

7A. Unsettled feeling — AGITA

8A. Back tooth — MOLAR

9A. Passionate student, perhaps — NERD

Down

1D. A text saying “Congratulations! You’ve won a $1,000 gift card,” usually — SCAM

2D. Element between chlorine and potassium on the periodic table — ARGON

3D. Craftiness — GUILE

4D. “___ Is Born” (film) — A STAR

6D. See 5-Across — HARD

Here are all the words on the grid:

This was an easier crossword than yesterday, but 5-Across and 6-Down were tricky since the clues were sparse. I also must admit that AGITA is not a word I’m particularly familiar with. Agitate, sure, but AGITA? Fortunately, other words helped me fill in the blanks. Where I fumbled in the end was 1-Down, where I input SPAM instead of SCAM, but I sorted that out. PRUSH is obviously not a word for “hopelessly infatuated” after all. This one took me a whopping 2:05.

How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
