Several self-driving Waymo vehicles were vandalized, spray-painted and then set on fire Sunday evening on Los Angeles Street in downtown L.A. as illegal immigration riots intensified as protests against the Trump administration’s enforcement of immigration laws moved into its third day.
Even as video of the Waymo fires played on screen next to her, U.S. Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) told MSNBC viewers LAPD had the riot under control:

Los Angeles police warned media and rioters to avoid the area due to toxic fumes from the environmentally friendly Waymo vehicles, “Traffic Advisor To our media partners, demonstrators and others who may enter the area of Los Angeles St, North of Arcadia and South of Alameda: Burning lithium-ion batteries release toxic gases, including hydrogen fluoride, posing risks to responders and those nearby. Please avoid the area.”
