During a press briefing today, President Trump hilariously stole the show after a reporter tried to shame him over a meme posted by someone in the White House that exploded over the weekend.
The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson previously reported that Trump announced during a press briefing Monday afternoon that the 2027 NFL draft will be held in Washington, DC. He was joined by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris in the Oval Office to make the big announcement for football and Washington, DC.
Harris, owner of the Commanders, formerly the Redskins, said, “I believe we’ll get over a million people, and it’s going to be an amazing day, and it’ll showcase what Washington is all about.”
During the question-and-answer portion of the briefing, though, Fox News’s Jacqui Heinrich had something else on her mind. She interrogated Trump about the White House team posting a meme of him as the Pope over the weekend. As TGP readers know, the post set the Internet completely ablaze.
Unfortunately, Heinrich decided to try to shame the president over the meme.
“Some Catholics are not so happy about the image of you as the Pope,” Heinrich began before Trump interjected.
“Ohh, I see. You mean, they can’t take a joke? You don’t mean the Catholics, you mean the fake news media. The Catholics loved it,” Trump replied. “I had nothing to do with it. Somebody made up an image of me dressed up as the Pope, and they put it on the Internet.”
“Maybe it was AI…I just saw it last evening. Actually, my wife thought it was cute, isn’t that nice?” he added. “Actually, I would not be able to be married, though…To the best of my knowledge, popes are not big on getting married, are they? I think it’s the fake news media, they’re fakers.”
Upon hearing this, Goodell and a few others burst out laughing.

Undeterred, Heinrich tried again to shame Trump on the matter again before he replied with one last zinger.
“Give me a break,” Trump said while chuckling. “Somebody did it in fun.”
