Many people have died or been injured in an Israeli airstrike in the south of the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian media reports.
At least 19 people were killed in the morning when a three-storey house in the city of Khan Younis was hit, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Numerous people were also injured.
The information could not be independently verified. Israel’s army said it was examining the report.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-controlled health authority in Gaza reported 86 deaths in fighting and attacks in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours.
The figures do not distinguish between civilians and combatants and cannot be independently verified at present.
Following the expansion of the ground offensive in the north of the Gaza Strip announced by Israel, thousands of people are fleeing the area, according to residents. Several Israeli tanks had entered the eastern neighbourhood of Shejaiya in Gaza City, witnesses told dpa.
According to the Israeli military, the ground offensive is also intended to create a larger buffer zone in the Gaza Strip along the border with Israel.
The relatives of the deceased mourn their loss as the bodies of those who lost their lives in an attack by the Israeli army on a tent where the displaced was staying in the southern Gaza Strip’s Khan Yunis are being taken from the morgue of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis to be buried after a funeral prayer in Khan Yunis.
