2025 Dynasty Rookie Rankings: TreVeyon Henderson

TreVeyon Henderson is one of the most polarizing names for 2025 dynasty rookie rankings. Many in the dynasty industry have Omarion Hampton or Kaleb Johnson as their RB2, but I disagree with that take. After breaking out as a freshman, there’s been a lot of disappointment and even prospect fatigue surrounding Henderson in his recent years.

Due to a number of injuries and lack of volume, Henderson hasn’t been able to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards since his freshman season. When you dive deeper into his profile, however, he impresses beyond the box score.

TreVeyon Henderson: Prospect Profile

During his freshman season at Ohio State, Henderson ran for 1,248 (6.8 YPC) and 15 touchdowns while also catching 27 passes for 312 yards. On top of that, Henderson has some of the best hands in the class, has home run speed, and displays good strength in one-on-one opportunities.

One of the main reasons people are scared of Henderson is his drop in production. It hasn’t been Henderson’s fault, though, as he suffered a broken bone in 2022 and a foot injury in 2023. Now that Henderson is fully healthy, though, Ohio State has him splitting the backfield with consensus 58th overall pick Quinshon Judkins.

As a senior, Henderson only received 118 carries but posted a career-best 7.0 YPC mark while rushing for 831 yards and eight touchdowns. Henderson has been used primarily in the receiving game, where he’s caught 23 passes for 189 yards.

For PPR leagues, getting a good pass catcher is a huge advantage. When turning on the film, Henderson shows extremely soft hands and is able to run wheel and swing routes extremely effectively. While you would like to see him develop a bit more of a route tree, the naturally soft hands are most important.

Projected NFL Draft Capital

Draft capital is very important for running backs because it tells you how committed a team is to said player. With running back being one of the most replaceable positions in football, getting drafted highly boosts a player’s dynasty value.

According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Henderson is a consensus 3rd right pick at the moment. At 89th overall, it looks like the draft community believes Henderson will be a late-day two pick, which is fine but not great for a running back.

As everything stands right now, Henderson is my RB2 in 2025 dynasty rookie rankings. For Superflex formats, I have Henderson at the 1.07, ahead of both Hampton and Johnson. While all three are in the same tier, Henderson’s superior pass-catching ability and elite explosiveness make him my RB2.
