With how good Ashton Jeanty has been this year, Tetairoa McMillan is getting slightly overlooked in 2025 dynasty rookie rankings. He was the talk of the nation after week one when he exploded for 10 catches, 304 yards and four touchdowns.

It’s not a knock to McMillan at all, as he ended up having a fantastic season, catching 84 passes for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns. While many view Jeanty as a can’t miss prospect, I would be shocked if McMillan didn’t take over the dynasty landscape a year from now.

Tetairoa McMillan: Prospect Profile

As a sophomore at Arizona, McMillan broke onto the college football scene. In 2023, McMillan caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns. As I mentioned above, McMillan followed that up with a great junior season as well, putting up an 84-1,319-8 stat line.

What makes McMillan special is his combination of size and speed. At 6’5” 212 lbs, McMillan moves extremely gracefully and his athleticism is off the charts. Typically these massive outside receivers can only high point passes and fall down. McMillan is special in the sense that his YAC ability is one of the most impressive parts of his game.

Not only does McMillan show an incredible catch radius to pair with good body control, but he’s also fantastic after the catch. McMillan seems to glide with the ball in his hands and he adds a lot after the catch as well. While McMillan could have a bit more defined route running, it’s not terrible by any means. When you have a 6’5” receiver, you’re never expecting them to run routes at an elite level.

Projected NFL Draft Capital

Right now, McMillan is projected to go 8th overall in the NFL Draft, according to NFL Mock Draft Database. With that said, I wouldn’t be shocked if McMillan goes as high as two to the Patriots. While the Patriots would be a dream landing spot, wide receiver is a lot less situational than running back.

Going to team up with Bryce Young would be a fine spot, as the Panthers hold the number six overall pick. Considering the uncertain quarterback play of both the Titans and Raiders, these spots would drop McMillan slightly in my rankings.

This is going to come as a shock to some, but McMillan is not only my WR1, but he’s number one overall in my 2025 dynasty rookie rankings. While I love Jeatny, McMillan is such a good prospect that it’s hard to see him not panning out. At the end of the day, wide receivers have a longer playing career than running backs.

The market on KeepTradeCut agrees with this positional value as well. The dynasty RB1 (Bijan Robinson) is ranked behind the WR3 (Malik Nabers). I’d rather invest in a wide receiver than a running back because I don’t see the level of prospect very differently.
