In this 2025 dynasty rookie rankings series, we’ve touched on some of the top prospects but not a single tight end. That changes now as we’re about to dive into my favorite player in the entire 2025 NFL Draft. Harold Fannin Jr. Before you get mad at me for ranking Fannin too high, I want to say that he could dramatically fall down my rankings with a poor landing spot or draft capital.

Harold Fannin Jr: Prospect Profile

Most people in the dynasty community are overlooking Fannin due to his poor level of competition last year. Fannin broke out as a junior at Bowling Green, which is a part of the MAC. Despite playing against poor teams for most of the year, Fannin had a historic season. Historic might even be an understatement, considering Fannin caught 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Keep in mind Fannin did that in 13 games as a tight end. When Fannin did play top competition in Penn State and Texas A&M, he dominated. In these two games, Fannin caught 19 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns.

Projected NFL Draft Capital

Right now, the only thing holding Fannin back is his blocking ability. While it doesn’t matter very much for dynasty fantasy football, it’s crucial for the NFL. Even so, NFL teams are going to take Fannin fairly high due to his incredible route running, hands and YAC skills.

According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Fannin is a consensus second-round pick with a 52nd overall rank. Due to his inability to block, we need to see if an NFL team is going to put Fannin on the field early and often. If he’s drafted in the second round, that says a lot about how invested the team is in Fannin.

It’s almost impossible to predict his landing spot, however, which will also play a big role. Fannin needs to be used as a “big slot” (similar to Brock Bowers) in order to maximize his potential.

It’s a controversial take, but from a pure dynasty and prospect perspective, Fannin is my TE1. He’s far and away the best pure receiver in the class, which is all I care about for my 2025 dynasty rookie rankings. Fannin has a wide margin for error to drop down, but as of now, he’s my 11th-ranked player in Superflex rookie drafts.
